Printemps Impatients : $36,355 raised thanks to you!
The first virtual auction to benefit Les Impatients, Printemps Impatients, which ended on May 29, was a great success. It raised the sum of $ 36,355.
Printemps Impatients, a new benefit event, was established to respond to the exceptional situation facing Quebec and the economic impacts for its organisations. Les Impatients adopted this new formula until they can host their annual fundraising events Parle-moi d’amour. It is not only the first time that they hosted a virtual event, but more importantly, it is the first time that they are organising an auction focusing entirely on donations from collectors.
Many collectors want to support Les Impatients by donating artworks previously sold by the organisation during fundraising events, including their well-known events Parle-moi d’amour. The organisation has accumulated hundreds of works this way. The 75 auctioned works were selected among them.
From contemporary to street art, from painting to engraving and sculpture, the sale featured an eclectic mix of styles and mediums. Among the artists featured Luc Béland, Jason Botkin, Sylvain Bouthillette, Yehouda Chaki, Stanley Cosgrove, Jean-Sébastien Denis, Ron English, Pierre Gauvreau, Michel Goulet, Alain Laframboise, Georges Shedd A.W.S. and Tobie Steinhouse.
All profits from the sale will serve to maintain the activities of the organisation. Given the recent implementation of sanitary measures, the artists running the workshops have maintained contact with their participants in order to ensure that art continues to benefit mental health while promoting a greater sense of community.
During this unprecedented time of crisis, mental health is a major issue that must be acknowledged. In addition to placing their bids, the general public was also able to donate to the organisation through the platform MaCause.com.
